UNIQUE
POSITIONS:
Unique
positions are currently available for people who are the best in their
field, and meet the requirements described below. We are looking for very
high performance people to be part of the team for an ultra high performance
product. We are working on a very focused project developing
one highly configurable product for volume production in a very short time
frame.
Degree
in electronic engineering or computer science required (graduate degree
preferred). Must be exceptional in your field, with examples of completed
projects. Work experience in a manufacturing environment is
strongly preferred.
Experience
in one or more of the following disciplines required:

Power Electronics
• PCB Design
•
DC to DC converters
• FPGAs
•
Power Inverters
JAVA Programming
Must
be able to see the complete picture and make it work and see it move to
mass production. Must be willing to relocate on the beach in Costa Rica
immediately, for at least one year. Longer term position possible.
Surfing, sailing, mountain biking, fishing, diving, running and musical
talent are all also appreciated.

We
have a pretty unique situation here. The members of our culturally
diverse research & development and creative concepts team live together
on several hundred acres of forest on the beach in Costa Rica. We
feel that, by having an environment where nature and people living and
working together are integrated with the design itself, we will design
products that will have a more positive effect on the world.
We
usually ask people who apply for our design positions: “You’re an designer.
If you could design your entire life and living and working environment
like you design a product, what would it be?” The reason we ask this is
we have created an environment which can be much more conducive to creativity
than the standard living and working environment in the modern world.
Because we do not only work together, but live together, we are interested
in details about their families, like their partners and children, with
some details like ages, interests, education, etc.
This
is a one of a kind opportunity, which will be a dream come true for some,
and totally unacceptable for many. Successful candidates will be
part of a small but growing design team working on a very focused project,
which will be in mass production in a fast moving time frame. This
is a very high visibility project that will be a strong point on anyone's
Resume. We use the latest in equipment and software and have
a satellite internet connection. From the actual design areas you
can look out at the jungle and the ocean. There are no traffic sounds,
just the sounds of birds, monkeys and the surf. The hours are totally
flexible and it is easy to be available to your children throughout the
day. There is no time spent commuting. In fact, most days there
is no reason to even use a car. Everyone here is involved in the
project in some way so there isn’t really so much of a separation between
work and the rest of living. The air and water are absolutely pollution
free, we eat really good organic food, we have no TVs or cigarettes and
there is a beautiful white sand beach with continual access to sailing,
surfing, snorkeling, fishing, etc.
